I think it’s about time we had women in our national assembly. Men have had their chance and they have caused nothing but damage, especially in the past few years. There is so much testosterone in the previous assembly and the one before it, that if we kept it up, we will pretty soon have literal
pissing contests in Abdullah Al-Salem Hall!
As a result, I have decided to give my vote to fellow citizens whom I believe possess intellect, dedication and grace. These fellow citizens happen to have the
XX chromosome, which I believe is an added value to the whole enterprise. Study after study have shown that women in public office are less prone to corruption, more disposed towards law and order, and less inclined to start a war with other countries.
Therefore, I am of the opinion that having as many women as possible in the legislator is a good thing for the country. So, I urge you, my fellow citizens, especially YOU women, to vote for at least one woman in your district. Even if she doesn’t stand a chance to win now, it’s a step in the right direction and she may very well win in the next elections, which incidentally, could be six months from now.
And WOMEN! Dog on it! There are more of you than us as registered voters, so it is theoretically absurd that not a single woman wins a seat in the parliament! Do something to change this impossibly unrealistic and unrepresentative picture of our country for your own sake, if nothing else.
