Sometimes you remember random details from your life for no particular reason, or so it seems. I still remember the first time I stumbled into this joint called Hotel Costes in Paris in the winter of 1999 in the company of a lady friend from Guerlain; it was her idea.

For some reason, the memory which stuck to my head from the whole experience was not the conversation I had with my date or even the food. I can only remember passing by the DJ booth (Stéphane Pompougnac?) as we were being shown to our table and with a quick glimpse I noticed he was about to play Café Del Mar 5. As we were departing, I became aware of the fact that management was peddling a CD that included the mix I was listening to that night.
That was my first Hotel Costes music purchase. Here is a tribute to all of them covering Vols. 1 to 15. The mix is just under two hours long and it contains my favorite tracks from each volume. It is suitable for a lively cocktail party. Enjoy.
